Catherine Kerr Began Her Swimming Career In The Early 1930s In Winnipeg. In 1935, Won Her First Canadian Championship, In 1937 Set Her First Canadian Record, In 1939 Set Two Canadian Records, Added Five Manitoba Records And Won Four Canadian Championships. In 1940 Set Three Canadian Records And Won Five National Titles, Nominated As Female Athlete Of The Year For Canada. Continued To Dominate Manitoba And Canadian Swimming Scene Until 1959 When She Turned To Synchronized Swimming, A Sport In Which She Won Her First 17 Provincial Titles In 1948. Helped Organize The Canadian Aquatic Hall Of Fame At Pan Am Pool. At This Date She Holds 16 Provincial Age Group Masters Records, And In 1984, Won A Gold, 4 Silver And 2 Broze Medals In The World Masters Swimming Championships In New Zealand. Inducted Into The Manitoba Sports Hall Of Fame November 16, 1985 |
